New Orleans is home to so many historical cemeteries that it is hard to keep track of them all! The most famous, and the most visited cemeteries in New Orleans are the St. Louis Cemeteries. However, visiting some of the lesser-known cemeteries can be just as enjoyable and interesting.

St. Louis Cemetery No. 1
The most visited Cemetery in New Orleans, St. Louis Cemetery #1 is world-famous for its' unique tombs, the famous people laid to rest inside, and the amazing history of this New Orleans' cemetery.
Located right outside of the French Quarter, St. Louis Cemetery is certainly worth a visit. However, you must be part of a tour group to enter the cemetery.
St. Louis Cemetery No. 2
Located just a short walk from St. Louis Cemetery #1, this cemetery is certainly worth the few minutes it'll take you to walk there. Many of New Orleans' most notable people are laid to rest in St. Louis Cemetery #2.

St. Louis Cemetery No. 3
St. Louis Cemetery #3 is the largest of the St. Louis Cemeteries. Located at the end of Esplanade Street, this historical cemetery will take you at least 2 hours to get through without being rushed. One of the main draws to St. Louis Cemetery #3 are the wide variety of Angels located on the tombs near the entrance to the Cemetery.
